on procrastination...

Greetings! And greetings to this new year as well. It seems to have been a long, long time since Ive written on my blog, but have not fear...Im back in black! Life has been a bit challenging for me. Many ups and downs throughout the holiday season. I was faced with class finals, pulling together an art exhibit, the holiday itself, the passing of my grandmother, the holiday/new year blues, and now a wonderful winter illness! UGH...needless to say, I am so ready to get on with my NEW YEAR! While my year end sparked many emotions, I did leave the year feeling a grateful...grateful for my health, my wonderful daughter, and my wonderful family and friends. I am blessed with so many gifts around me, and for all of those I am grateful. And while Im being honest, lets face it...I am grateful that the year, 2010, came to a close. I am so happy and looking forward to fresh beginnings that the year ahead may or may not hold. I made a few resolutions, and I am hoping to achieve those, one baby step at a time. While I was thinking about all of this, and feeling the guilt of being behind on my blog, I came to the realization that I was procrastinating diving into the new year. Sure, I have had a lot going on, but I realized I needed to get my butt in gear, and stop thinking about it, and feeling guilty about it. So, here I am. My first blog of the new year, and I feel great! I feels amazing to be at the keyboard. My commitment to all of you, is that I will get caught up on my blogs, just as quickly as I can. I need, and I want to make up for lost time. To all of you, I hope your new year has been off to a great start. May the coming days bring you much joy, much love, much happiness, and good health. No more procrastinating my friends!!!

Today's activity: procrastination
By definition: to put things off, or consciously delay action

Im sure all of you are familiar with the art of procrastination. I call it an art, because lets face it....it takes a lot of creativity to be a procrastinator! You know you are procrastinating with doing anything, even washing the dishes, sounds better than diving into the chore or activity at hand! The funny thing is, once we begin the chore or activity, we find that we are really happy, and diving into the task isnt so bad, and often time, completing the chore makes us feel really great, and accomplished. Today I encourage you to take on something, a task, a phone call, a chore, that you have been putting off for sometime. Dive into one of the items on your "to do" list, and have fun with it. Complete the task to the best of your ability, and when your done...cross that bad boy off of your list! At the end of your day, be thankful for completing the task, no matter how big or how small. Know that you have tackled the art of procrastination with charm, grace, and ease, and with these qualities, you will tackle your entire list one baby step at a time!
